Strength

Combat skill

Strength raises your maximum melee hit. Weapons add a strength bonus on top of the level.

Alpha guide. Strength's max-hit scaling is live. Training it directly requires attack-style selection, which arrives with the equipment update.

Mechanics

Every melee hit rolls damage up to a maximum determined chiefly by Strength level and the weapon's strength bonus. A landed hit deals between 1 and the maximum, uniformly.

Under the designed style system, melee XP routes by chosen style: Accurate trains Attack, Aggressive trains Strength, Defensive trains Defense, and Controlled splits the 4 XP per damage evenly (4/3 each) across all three. Constitution receives its 4/3 per damage in every case. Until styles ship, melee XP trains Attack.

All skills use the same experience curve. Level 100 is skill mastery (955,336 XP); level 999 is legendary mastery (253,245,203 XP). See the experience table for the full curve.

Tip. Weapon strength bonuses differ more than attack bonuses between tiers (Bronze Sword 5 vs Steel Sword 17); upgrading your weapon raises damage even before Strength levels do.
