Mining

Gathering skill

Mining is the skill of extracting ore from rocks. Each swing grants Mining experience and one ore.

Alpha guide. All values on this page are current Alpha data. Additional rocks and pickaxes will be added during development.

Mechanics

Mining requires a pickaxe and a rock of a type you have the level for. Each action channels for a fixed time, then grants XP and one ore; the rock is then depleted for a respawn period. Higher rocks require both a higher Mining level and a higher pickaxe tier. Pickaxe speed bonuses reduce the channel time of every swing.

All skills use the same experience curve. Level 100 is skill mastery (955,336 XP); level 999 is legendary mastery (253,245,203 XP). See the experience table for the full curve.

Tips.
  • An Iron Pickaxe is usable at level 1; carry one from the start and switch to Steel at level 6.
  • Coal requires a Steel Pickaxe (tier 3). Have one banked before you reach level 30.
  • Copper and tin have equal requirements and XP. Mining them in equal amounts leaves you with matched materials for bronze bars — one of each per bar.
  • Steel bars consume two Coal each in Blacksmithing; coal mined past your own needs can be sold on the Tideboard.
