Not every update is a new island. This week's work is the quieter kind — the rules that keep a shared world feeling fair.
Names you can live with
Your name is how the world knows you, so we've pinned down the rules. Character names are one to eighteen characters — letters, numbers, and spaces — and each name is unique: once someone claims Solo, nobody else can take solo with different capitalisation. Whoever picks a name first keeps the way they wrote it.
We've also built proper guardrails against offensive names. The clearly unacceptable ones are blocked outright at creation, and borderline cases get flagged for a human to review — because we'd rather a person make the judgement call than a machine guessing. If something slips through, the report tools work, and moderators can act.
Hiscores that mean something
The hiscores have picked up entry floors. The Overall board now ranks the top ten thousand accounts that have reached a solid total level, and each skill board ranks the top ten thousand who've genuinely trained that skill past its opening levels. The point is simple: a rank should say you did something, not just you logged in.
Small changes on paper — but they're the kind that decide whether the isles feel worth competing in. More soon.
